Been out of touch a lot lately.  Major computer issues and so I don't get online as often but am trying to fix it but it's tough because I know how to use a computer but not how to fix it when things go wrong!

Three weeks in HELL and I made it home last night.  I'm exhausted.

Gonna be out of touch for a few weeks.  Leaving later this morning to go to HELL.  I, alone, am going to my grandmother's to help her through a medical situation.  No computer, no internet service and the bare basic of basic cable (less than 30 watchable channels).  It's not gonna be fun.  I hope I make it back alive. 

15 degrees...wind chill at 3.  Nuff said.

Got my cookie baking finished yesterday and learned that Reagen and 'people' cookies don't mix.  I don't allow him to have much in the way of 'human' food (a little lean mean and a few veggies) but my mother couldn't resist his begging face.  Poor thing has a terrible case of the 'runs' so he's going back on canned pumpkin (not pie filling but ( Read more... )

Started my holiday baking yesterday.  Got all the doughs made and baked off the peanut butter and chocolate chip cookies.  Today I'll finish the rest so Mom can have the kitchen to make gingerbread for the neighbors and pies for us.

We're not decorating this year (not even a tree); it's just too much hassle.  We thought it would just be the 3 of us (me, Mom and the dog) but my brother called late last week to let us know that he, his wife and mother in-law would be here for dinner.  We didn't invite them this year but my brother assumes he has an open invitation.  "We always ( Read more... )

My father's cremains are buried in a military cemetery not far from where we used to live (now it's about a 25 minute drive).  When we lived near the cemetery, I was 4-5 years of age so my mother knows the area better than I do.  Yet, she will not visit unless I drive her.  I don't get it.  Why does she always wait for ME to take her instead of ( Read more... )

Now that all the leaves have fallen from the trees, I decided it was time to rake them up.  12-and-a-half, 50 gallon leaf and lawn bags, and 4 hours were used just to clean up the backyard.  I'm pooped.

Thankfully I am the 'Queen of Preparedness' so I wasn't caught off guard by yesterday's weather.  Snow in October?  It doesn't snow in October in Jersey!  It's crazy!  It's 15 degrees below average for this time of year and Reagen hates wearing his sweater but it's too cold for him to be out without it.  I already had 3 containers of pet-friendly ( Read more... )
